Swiss running shoe brand launches its Cloudsurfer Prism Edition for ...

On, the innovative running shoe company built on patented Swiss technology, has deftly blended fashion and function in its new Cloudsurfer Prism Edition for female runners. The stylish new model celebrates the light running sensation of the On with the color of light: white. And, as a prism changes white light into colors, runners can change the look of their all-white Cloudsurfers with three pairs of colorful laces that come in a Special Edition box.

?The On is like running barefoot, but without the shocks,? says Olivier Bernhard, the sixtime Ironman champion and co-founder of On. ?The unique running feel is often described as ?running on clouds?, and can be instantly felt by any runner.?

The On is the shoe of choice for several world-class female athletes. Marathon legend and former world record holder Tegla Loroupe, who is now a UN Ambassador for Sport and an ardent peace campaigner, first used On for a peace run across Europe. She never looked back, and has since become a huge On fan. And Swiss triathlete Caroline Steffen recently missed the Ironman world record by just 55 seconds in her Ons, and came second in the World Championship in Hawaii.

The Cloudsurfer Prism Edition weighs only 9.2 oz.* and will be available for GBP 115.00 SRP just in time for the holiday season. For a list of retailers and the On e-shop, visit www.onrunning.com.

How does On?s patented CloudTec? system work?

The human body has been made to run barefoot. Not on hard surfaces, though. That?s why On?s patented CloudTec? system anticipates what human foot evolution has not yet achieved since streets were invented.

The On sole features a number of three-dimensional elements or ?Clouds? made of highly flexible tubular pieces of rubber. With this radically new design, the sole absorbs both vertical and horizontal forces to ensure a soft landing. Once the foot is on the ground, the Clouds lock firm, providing a solid foundation for a powerful push-off. The On shoe thus combines what conventional running shoes have so far failed to unite: a cushioned landing and a barefoot takeoff. It?s like stepping down on sand and pushing off on a running track!

On wearers experience a light and fast run and enjoy all the positives of natural running without any compromise in comfort and speed. The Clouds act like small stability balls, responding to every movement of the foot. Athletes and their coaches report increased muscle activation, reduced risk of injury and shortened recovery times. There?s scientific evidence, too: independent studies by Zurich?s reputed Federal Institute of Technology have shown that On?s patented CloudTec? system significantly reduces athletes? heart rate and lactic acid levels.

Who is On?

On Inc. is a young Swiss Zurich-based sports company with a simple mission. The team of sports scientists and running enthusiasts around world-class athlete Olivier Bernhard (triple world champion and six-times Ironman winner) strives to elevate running to a sport that?s not just healthy but fun, too. The On running shoe has already earned the prestigious ispo Brand New Award for Sports Innovation, and continues to win technology and design prizes all over the globe. The CloudTec? system is protected by worldwide patents. And just two years after their market launch, On shoes are available at more than 500 specialist running retailers in 18 countries in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

About On Co-Founder Olivier Bernhard

Olivier Bernhard?s spectacular 15-year career was highlighted by six Ironman wins, three duathlon world championship titles and the third-fastest Hawaii Ironman split ever (2:41). But, as with many runners, pain in his Achilles tendons forced him to retire. Right after leaving competitive racing, Bernhard developed a first prototype of the On with Swiss engineers; and he knew already that his new destiny was to develop the shoe and bring true scientific innovation to running.
